Role Overview

We are seeking fully qualified Counsellors or Psychotherapists to join a digital healthcare provider. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated Clinical Team focused on providing high-quality, accessible mental health support.

As an Telephone Counsellor, you will be the first point of contact for clients, conducting clinical triage and delivering brief interventions. This role is ideal for practitioners who thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy a blend of assessment, risk management, and structured therapeutic support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Assessment & Triage: Conduct initial clinical assessments to identify client needs and determine the most appropriate clinical pathway.
  • Direct Support: Deliver "in the moment" support, booked assessments, and single-session therapy via telephone or video.
  • Caseload Management: Maintain a caseload of clients for structured counselling sessions, tailored to service requirements and your contracted hours.
  • Risk & Safeguarding: Perform robust risk assessments and strictly adhere to established safeguarding protocols.
  • Clinical Documentation: Ensure all interactions are recorded through brief, accurate, and professional clinical notes.
  • Team Integration: Work collaboratively as an integral member of the Support Line Team.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Professional Status: Qualified Counsellor/Psychotherapist (Level 4 or above) with current BACP, COSCA, or equivalent professional registration.
  • Clinical Expertise: A strong clinical background with refined assessment skills and the ability to make sound decisions while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Technical Proficiency: Competent IT skills, particularly with the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a team-oriented mindset.
  • Resilience: Ability to manage a busy workload and remain calm under pressure.
  • Experience (Desirable): Prior experience in EAP, telephone counselling, or time-limited assessment within a corporate setting is advantageous, though full training is provided.
