The role

As a Pre-Assessment Nurse, you'll be responsible for assessing patients before surgery to ensure they are physically and mentally prepared for the procedure. This includes reviewing patients' medical histories, conducting physical examinations, and assessing any potential risks or complications. You'll collaborate with surgeons and anaesthetists to develop individualized care plans, ensuring patient safety and optimizing surgical outcomes. You'll also educate patients about the surgical process, answer questions, and provide emotional support to alleviate anxiety. Furthermore, you'll ensure all necessary preoperative tests and preparations are completed, including blood work and other diagnostic procedures.

Nursing requirements

• NMC registration

• 6 months' experience within a UK healthcare setting

• Right to work in the UK
