The Opportunity: 

In the high-precision environment of the operating theatre, you are the technical guardian of patient stability. This role demands an expert who can seamlessly anticipate the needs of the Anaesthetist, managing complex airway scenarios and pharmacological interventions with calm, authoritative precision.

The Impact You’ll Make:

• Clinical Delivery: Lead the preparation and conscious monitoring of patients undergoing general, regional, or local anaesthesia, ensuring physiological safety throughout the perioperative journey.
• Technical Excellence: Expertly manage anaesthetic workstations, difficult airway trolleys, and invasive monitoring equipment while assisting with complex intubations and venous access.
• Quality & Compliance: Uphold rigorous WHO Surgical Safety Checklists and HCPC/NMC standards to mitigate risk and maintain a sterile, high-standard clinical environment.
• Operational Success: Coordinate effectively within the surgical scrub and recovery teams to ensure fluid list management and rapid turnover without compromising patient care.

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum 12 months NHS or relevant UK experience specifically within anaesthetic departments.
• Credentials: Mandatory degree in Operating Department Practice (ODP) or Nursing with an Anaesthetic post-reg qualification, plus active HCPC or NMC registration.
• Logistics: Proficiency in handling anaesthetic emergencies and a thorough understanding of current perioperative pharmacology.
