Human Resources Business Partner (Band 8A)
Job Overview
Provides dedicated senior-level operational HR support to an allocated Division. The Business Partner integrates business strategies with the overarching People Strategy, oversees performance against HR KPIs, and leads the full range of management actions for the Divisional HR team.

Pay Rates: Up to £34 per hour Umbrella or £29 per hour PAYE inclusive of holiday pay
Hours / Working Days: 37.5 hours per week / Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm

Main Responsibilities
- Divisional Partnership: Build strong business relationships with the Divisional management team (including the Divisional Director, Director of Operations, and Finance) to align HR interventions with operational needs.
- Strategic Planning: Provide advice on strategic workforce plans, recruitment plans, and cost-saving/productivity strategies (e.g., managing bank and agency spend).
- HR Service Delivery: Oversee the delivery of credible, timely HR services. Create and implement HR KPIs to monitor case management and team performance.
- Complex Case & Change Management: Act as the lead specialist for complex employee relations framework issues. Take a professional lead on highly complex cases, investigations, and large-scale organizational change projects.
- Medical Workforce Oversight: Maintain a strategic overview of the medical workforce agenda, monitoring the allocation of doctors in training, processing additional contractual payments, and reviewing SAS doctor pay progression.
- Financial Management: Review financial details related to workforce structures and sign off timesheets and travel expenses.
Person Specification Key Requirements
- Qualifications: Masters-level education (via degree/professional qualification) or equivalent highly specialist experience in an HRBP role. Full membership of the CIPD is essential.
- Experience: Significant senior HR experience in a large, diverse organisation. Proven track record of delivering organizational change, negotiating policies with trade unions, and strategy development.
- Skills: Strong leadership, negotiation, and influencing skills. Ability to critically analyze complex data sets, work under intense pressure, and deliver difficult feedback at all levels.
