Hours / Working Days: 37.5 hours per week / Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm - Flexible (remote working with ideally 2 days on-site)

Job Purpose
To support the effective management of medical staffing through the optimisation of workforce systems, ensuring compliance with Working Time Directive (WTD), New Deal requirements, and contractual obligations. The role provides expert advice, training, and administrative support to managers and medical staff, ensuring accurate rota management and workforce reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, manage, and maintain junior doctor rotas ensuring WTD and New Deal compliance.
Act as a subject matter expert on medical rostering, providing advice to managers and staff.
Support and train users on workforce systems (e.g. e-rostering), improving system utilisation.
Coordinate and deliver monitoring of junior doctors’ hours, including reporting and re-monitoring.
Provide workforce data, reports, and analysis to support operational decision-making.
Respond to rota queries and employee relations matters in line with HR policies.
Design rotas for full-time and less than full-time trainees, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
Support recruitment and onboarding processes for junior medical staff, including rota provision.
Contribute to policy development and continuous improvement of workforce processes.
Experience in medical staffing or rota coordination within an NHS setting.
Strong knowledge of WTD, New Deal, and junior doctor rota monitoring.
Experience using e-rostering systems (e.g. e- rota).
Ability to analyse data and produce clear reports.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Qualifications
Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent NVQ Level 3 or experience).
Relevant HR/Personnel qualification (desirable).
