Job Title: Information Governance Manager (Band 8a)

Location: Croydon
 Pay Rate: £28.95 per hour PAYE (Holiday Pay Inclusive)
 Duration: 3 months 
 Start Date: Immediate
 Hours: Full-Time Monday-Friday 37.5 hours 
 Working Pattern: Hybrid (Pattern TBC)

Job Summary

We are recruiting for an experienced Information Governance Manager to join a busy NHS organisation in Croydon. You will lead the delivery of the Trust's Information Governance Framework, ensuring compliance with UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, Freedom of Information legislation, and NHS Information Governance standards.

Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will oversee the Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT), develop policies and procedures, manage information governance risks, and promote a culture of data protection and information security across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and continuously improve the Information Governance Framework.
  • Manage the annual Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT).
  • Provide expert advice on UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, FOI and NHS Information Governance.
  • Develop and implement Information Governance policies and procedures.
  • Lead Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and Data Sharing Agreements.
  • Investigate information governance incidents and support regulatory compliance.
  • Produce governance reports and present updates to senior management.
  • Deliver Information Governance training and awareness programmes.
  • Monitor compliance through audits and risk management activities.
  • Line manage Information Governance staff and support service improvement.

Criteria

  • Degree or equivalent relevant qualification.
  • Significant senior-level NHS Information Governance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, FOI, DSPT and NHS Information Governance standards.
  • Experience developing Information Governance policies and conducting DPIAs.
  • Knowledge of information security principles and risk management.
  • Experience managing audits, investigations and compliance programmes.
  • Excellent communication, report writing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Previous staff management experience.

Desirable

  • Information Governance or ISEB qualification.
  • PRINCE2 qualification.
  • Knowledge of NHS digital transformation and Electronic Patient Records.
  • Experience with ISO information security standards.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to influence senior leaders and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong organisational, project management and policy development skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex Information Governance requirements clearly
