Accounting Technician
Main Purpose To assist the Finance Team with timely and accurate production of financial reports, information and reconciliations, through the provision of high quality administrative and technical support. To contribute as an integral member of the Finance team to the provision of a modern, professional and responsive Financial Services to support the vision and mission .
Location: Lisburn (Valid driving licence and access to a car required)

Pay Rates: £19.72 per hour PAYE inclusive of holiday pay
Hours / Working Days: 36.25 hours per week / Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting and Accounting
- Support financial reporting, statutory accounts, returns, and month-end/year-end processes.
- Maintain accurate financial records, journals, reconciliations, and controls.
- Prepare financial analysis and ad-hoc reports using Excel, Access, and finance systems.
- Support asset register updates, treasury tasks, cash reviews, payments, and process improvements.
Governance, Data & Information Assurance
- Apply relevant legislation, policies, procedures, delegated authority, and GDPR requirements.
- Provide guidance to stakeholders and accurate information for audits, FOI requests, and internal teams.
- Maintain records securely and report suspected fraud in line with policy.
Systems and Service Improvement
- Support finance systems by resolving issues, logging faults, and liaising with providers, managers, and IT.
- Maintain accurate management information and support improvements to systems and processes.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Possess a minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grades A*- C / 9 – 4, to include English Language and Mathematics.
- fully qualified Accounting Technician, with a full membership of a recognised body (i.e. AAT/ATI).
- minimum of two years’ experience working in a Finance environment in a large organisation (defined as >300 employees or budget >£5 million), to include preparing journals, completing month-end/year-end reconciliations, working with a computerised accounts package, and using advanced Excel skills.
