This Biomedical Science position is suitable for an experienced Histology Medical Laboratory Assistant Huntingdon to apply on a locum basis to start as a locum with a pay of £16 - £17 P/H.

• This role requires prior experience in a UK-based laboratory relevant to the post

• Specimen Reception

• Labelling samples

• Degree in Biomedical Science or similar

• Right to Work in the UK (we are unable to provide sponsorship)

• - Start date Monday 2nd November 2026

  - End date 30th November 2026 (Initially)

  - Monday to Friday (full time)

  - 09:00 to 17:00

  - Cambridgeshire, Huntingdon

  The post holder will support the day-to-day operation of the Histopathology laboratory by receiving and handling specimens, carrying out specimen disposal, filing laboratory material, and performing routine equipment checks and maintenance. They will work in accordance with laboratory procedures, COSHH regulations, health and safety requirements, and ISO 15189 standards to ensure a safe, organised and efficient working environment. The role requires good attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions accurately, basic computer skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

  Skills/Experience required:

  - Histopathology or pathology laboratory experience either NHS or private

  - Familiarity with LIMS and laboratory IT systems

  - Understanding of laboratory workflows and sample handling

  - Experience working to SOPs, COSHH and quality standards
