Biomedical Scientist – Band 6 (Transfusion / Haematology)

Location: Bournemouth / Poole
Contract: Minimum 6 months, full time (37.5 hours/week average)
Pay rate: Up to £27.00 per hour (capped)
Start: Immediate

We are currently recruiting for three Band 6 Biomedical Scientists to join a busy pathology laboratory in the Bournemouth/Poole area on a temporary contract basis.

Roles available:

• 2 x Biomedical Scientist – Transfusion
• 1 x Biomedical Scientist – Haematology only

Analysers on-board:

• Beckman DXH900
• Stago R Max
• BioRad

Key details:

• Full HCPC registration required
• Must be able to work a full shift pattern, including nights and weekends
• Morphology experience desirable but not essential
• Experience with the above analysers advantageous
• On-site accommodation available, ideal for candidates relocating or commuting from further afield
• Immediate start available
• Minimum 6-month commitment required

About the role:
You will work as part of a skilled multidisciplinary laboratory team, providing high-quality diagnostic testing across transfusion and/or haematology services using modern, well-equipped analytical platforms. Based on the beautiful Dorset coast, this is a great opportunity for an experienced Band 6 BMS looking for a well-paid, immediate-start contract with guaranteed shift variety, with the added convenience of on-site accommodation.

Requirements:

• HCPC registration (essential)
• Relevant experience at Band 6 level in Transfusion and/or Haematology
• Willingness and ability to work full shift patterns, including nights and weekends
• Morphology skills an advantage but not a barrier to application
• Familiarity with Beckman DXH900, Stago R Max and/or BioRad systems an advantage
