Blood Sciences Associate Practitioner

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Blood Sciences Associate Practitioner to join a busy laboratory in Manchester on a full time locum basis. This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to the delivery of high quality diagnostic services within Blood Sciences (Haematology and/or Biochemistry).

Role Details:

• Full time, 37.5 hours per week
• Immediate start
• Ongoing contract
• Locum position
• Paid via Direct Engagement

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine sample reception, preparation and processing within Blood Sciences
• Operate and maintain laboratory analysers in line with departmental protocols
• Ensure accurate sample labelling, tracking and result entry onto the laboratory information system
• Carry out quality control procedures and escalate any discrepancies appropriately
• Maintain accurate records and adhere to Trust and departmental Standard Operating Procedures
• Work collaboratively with Biomedical Scientists and wider laboratory staff to support efficient turnaround times
• Follow health and safety, infection control and information governance policies at all times

Essential Requirements:

• Previous experience working as an Associate Practitioner within a Blood Sciences/Haematology/Biochemistry laboratory setting
• Sound understanding of laboratory quality standards and good laboratory practice
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure
• Good communication and teamworking skills
• Relevant qualification (e.g. Foundation Degree or equivalent laboratory experience)
