 Pay Rate: £16.28 per hour PAYE inclusive of holiday pay
 Duration: Ongoing
 Working Pattern: 4 days out of 7 shifts between 7am-9.30pm
 Hours: 36 hours per week – 9-hour shifts
 Overtime: Available when required
 Sector: Public, Highways, Traffic & Parking
Working Arrangement: Onsite

Role Overview

Our client is seeking experienced and reliable Civil Enforcement Officers (CEOs) to join their Highways, Traffic & Parking team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced parking enforcement professional who holds a valid CBT licence and is confident working outdoors and dealing with members of the public.

You will be responsible for enforcing parking regulations, issuing Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs), responding to public enquiries and helping to maintain safe and accessible streets across the borough.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patrol on and off-street parking areas on foot, by pedal cycle or using a Council vehicle.
  • Issue Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) in line with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Use handheld enforcement equipment and body-worn cameras accurately.
  • Maintain accurate records of enforcement activity.
  • Respond to members of the public in a professional and courteous manner, including handling challenging situations.
  • Report signage issues, abandoned vehicles and other parking or highway hazards.
  • Attend team briefings and provide witness statements where required.
  • Assist with investigations and enforcement-related enquiries.
  • Follow health and safety procedures, particularly when working alone.

Essential Requirements

  • Valid CBT licence – essential.
  • At least 1 year experience in civil parking enforcement.
  • Good working knowledge of parking legislation and enforcement procedures.
  • Experience issuing PCNs and using handheld enforcement equipment.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Confident dealing with conflict and challenging situations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physically able to work outdoors in all weather conditions for extended periods.
  • Comfortable using handheld devices, enforcement software and body-worn cameras.
  • Good understanding of lone-working and health and safety procedures.
  • Standard DBS certificate or willingness to obtain one.
