Shift Options: 08:00–16:00, 08:30–16:30 or 09:00–17:00
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Hospital Administrator / Booking coordinator to provide essential administrative and secretarial support within a busy NHS healthcare environment. The successful candidate will assist with the smooth day-to-day running of the service, supporting clinical and non-clinical teams while ensuring patients receive a professional and efficient service.
Previous NHS experience is highly desirable, with experience within Gynaecology being a significant advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to the clinical team.
- Manage patient bookings, appointments and general administrative processes.
- Answer and respond to patient queries by telephone and email.
- Provide accurate and timely typing support for clinical correspondence and documentation.
- Process and distribute clinical letters and other patient documentation.
- Check patient results and ensure information is accurately recorded and appropriately processed.
- Complete EPR administration using Cerner, maintaining accurate patient records.
- Carry out filing, data entry, record management and other general administrative duties.
- Liaise effectively with clinical, administrative and other healthcare teams.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and comply with NHS policies and procedures.
Essential / Desirable Experience
- Previous NHS or hospital administration experience.
- Strong general administration and secretarial skills.
- Experience providing typing and correspondence support.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle confidential patient information.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Experience dealing with patients by telephone and email.
- Cerner EPR experience is highly desirable.
- Bighand and Nervecentre experience would be highly beneficial, although training can be provided.
- Previous Gynaecology experience would be a major advantage.
