Band 6 Occupational Therapist
Our Client based in Central London is looking to hire a Locum Occupational Therapist with strong experience working within various neurological conditions including Stroke, Acute Brain Injury/Traumatic Brain Injury, Spinal Rehabilitation and Prolonged Disorders of Consciousness.
The post is initially for 12 weeks; however, a further extension may be offered to the successful candidate. The hourly pay rate for this role is £24 - £25 P/H.
You will need to meet the below criteria to be considered for this position:
- Experience working with various neurological conditions including Stroke, Acute Brain Injury/Traumatic Brain Injury, Spinal Rehabilitation and Prolonged Disorders of Consciousness.
- Able to complete thorough initial assessments and work collaboratively with MDT. Thorough documentation skills.
- Confident with treatment of complex and specialist cases within field of neurological therapy. Strong clinical reasoning skills.
- Good understanding of relationship between physical, cognitive, psychological and social dimensions of illness. Knowledge of current legislation.
- Ability to conduct appropriate Risk Assessments as needed.
- Good communication skills.
- Proficient with computer usage and online systems.
- Have a minimum of 6-12 months of NHS experience within Stroke and Neuro Rehabilitation, ideally in acute setting, but strong candidates with community experience may be considered for this post
- Hold Occupational Therapy degree (MSc or BSc) and full HCPC registration
- Be available to commence the role within a maximum of 2 weeks from the confirmation and happy to commit to a minimum period of three months
