IT Engineer (Band 5) .(car driver required)

We are currently seeking CVs for an IT Engineer (Band 5) position within the IT Department to cover a period of sick leave.

The successful candidate will provide 2nd line technical support to over 5,000 staff across clinical and administrative services. The role may involve supporting systems, networks, telecoms, or desktop services, with flexibility to assist other IT operational teams as required.

Location: from Chichester, across to Hastings. Your base will be Northdown, Swandean

Job Type: Temporary 

Duration of booking: Expected to be 30 days rolling 

Proposed start date: ASAP

Pay Rates: Up to £20 per hour Umbrella or £17.50 per hour PAYE inclusive of holiday pay

Hours / Working Days: 37.5 hours per week / Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm

Key responsibilities include:

• Resolving IT incidents and providing user support.
• Installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware, software, networks, and systems.
• Supporting Microsoft environments, including Windows, Office, Exchange, Active Directory, servers, and networking technologies.
• Assisting with more complex technical issues and supporting junior IT staff when required.
• Managing equipment, user accounts, and system changes.
• Contributing to IT projects, system improvements, and operational procedures.
• Ensuring IT infrastructure remains secure ,maintained, and performing effectively 

Requirements:

• Relevant IT qualifications and/or experience.
• Strong technical knowledge across Microsoft technologies, networking, and server environments.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to travel between sites across Sussex - access to a vehicle is essential.

Working Pattern: The previous postholder worked Monday to Wednesday, 09:00-15:00. We would ideally like to maintain this pattern; however, we can be flexible and accommodate preferred hours within 08:00-18:00.

Regarding location the Trust have said you will need your own car and to be able to travel across Sussex, from Chichester, across to Hastings. Your base will be Northdown, Swandean.

Contract is 30 days rolling contract unfortunately, this role is covering for long term sickness, if that person returns then the contract wouldn't be renewed.
