Dental Nurse Requirements

• GDC registration

• You will have chairside experience and ideally hold the NEBDN National Certificate for Dental Nurses, NVQ in Oral Health Care Dental Nursing Level 2 & 3, Diploma in Dental Nursing L3 or equivalent.

• You will be registered with the General Dental Council and have personal indemnity cover.

• NHS experience is desirable

• Eligibility to work in the UK

The Role

• Confident operating machines and can record data accurately

• Working face-to-face with patients from various backgrounds

• Strong communicator

•  Support clinicians in a wide range of different types of clinical treatments, within a range of settings e.g. clinics, patients’ homes, residential care and nursing homes, hospices and hospitals.

• Anticipate clinician needs and support patients during dental treatment.

• Responding to individual patient’s needs and provide pre- and post-operative instruction when needed, ensuring privacy and dignity is maintained.

• Prepare the dental surgery and temporary clinical environments outside of clinical areas for use, ensuring the use of personal protective equipment as defined by Trust Infection Prevention guidelines.

• Ensure correct clean instruments and equipment, x-rays, records and electronic records are available to the clinician prior to treatment

• Provide clinical support for Inhalation and Intra-Venous sedation clinics - additional training will be provided if necessary.
