Your World Nursing is looking for an Occupational Health Nurse to join our client's team in Harlow on a  locum basis. This role has a salary of  £28 - £30 P/H and a starting date of 07/07/2025.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct health assessments including pre-employment screening, fitness-for-work evaluations, and periodic health surveillance.
  • Deliver vaccination and immunisation programmes in line with current guidelines.
  • Support case management of sickness absence, including the provision of evidence-based advice to managers.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of health promotion and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Participate in risk assessments and offer advice on control measures for occupational hazards.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records in line with data protection and professional standards.
  • Provide emergency care and first aid if required.
  • Support compliance with legislation (e.g. Health and Safety at Work Act, Control of Substances Hazardous to Health - COSHH).
  • Liaise with external providers, such as GPs or occupational health physicians, when necessary.

Person Specification

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (Adult) with the NMC.
  • Hold or working towards a recognised qualification in Occupational Health Nursing (e.g. Diploma or BSc in Occupational Health).
  • Valid certification in basic life support and vaccination administration desirable.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in an occupational health setting preferred.
  • Experience in case management and health surveillance activities.
  • Knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation and standards.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in clinical systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise a varied caseload effectively.
  • Commitment to continued professional development.
