Pay Rate: £30.50 PAYE Inclusive of Holiday Pay
Job Purpose:
To manage and deliver high-quality Mechanical and Electrical Estates services across a hospital site. This role ensures compliance, safety, and performance standards while supporting patient-focused service delivery and strategic development within the Estates & Facilities division.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day management of mechanical, electrical, and building systems (HVAC, boilers, medical gases, power systems, etc.).
- Oversee internal teams and contractors to ensure compliance, efficiency, and value for money.
- Manage team performance, training, and development, promoting a culture of service excellence.
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and tender evaluations.
- Ensure all statutory requirements and safety standards are met.
- Contribute to strategic planning, policy development, and capital project support.
- Represent Estates on internal committees and liaise with clinical teams and senior management.
- Participate in on-call rota for Estates management.
Essential Requirements:
- Degree or equivalent in Building Services Engineering or related discipline.
- Professional registration (e.g. IEng or CEng) with IHEEM, CIBSE, IET, or similar.
- Significant experience at senior level within healthcare estates or similar complex environment.
- Knowledge and experience with key healthcare systems (HTM compliance, medical gases, pressure systems, etc.).
- Proven leadership, staff management, and budget management skills.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and report-writing skills.
