Job Title: Interim Senior Change Manager
Location: Liverpool (Hybrid – 3 days office-based) Duration: expected to last 6 Months, with possible extension (or until permanent appointment is made) Proposed start date: ASAP
Pay Rates: Up to £33 per hour Umbrella or £28 per hour PAYE inclusive of holiday pay
Hours / Working Days: 37.5 hours per week / Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm

About the Role:
- We are seeking an experienced Interim Senior Change Manager to join our Transformation Team on a 6-month contract. This role is critical in embedding robust change management practices across the organisation, supporting high-profile and complex transformation programmes that span multiple service areas.
- You’ll be part of a high-performing and dynamic team of Programme Managers, Project Managers and Project Support Officers, delivering impactful change that benefits people who live and work in the area.
- This role supports the implementation of a newly designed operating model for change management. The successful candidate will help roll out this model, build internal capability, and lay the groundwork for a permanent Senior Change Manager role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the subject matter expert on change management across the Transformation Team.
- Provide training, coaching, and hands-on support to embed change management tools, methodologies, and principles within programmes and projects.
- Work directly with Programme teams to assess and meet their change needs—providing input, coaching, or identifying additional resourcing requirements.
- Coach and support senior leaders and project stakeholders to enhance organisational change maturity and ensure alignment on change goals.
- Collaborate with the PMO team to integrate change management into project delivery frameworks and toolkits.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement and lead the groundwork for establishing a strong change management function within the organisation.
What We’re Looking For:
- Recognised qualification in Change Management (e.g., Prosci, APMG) or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated success in leading and delivering complex, multi-stakeholder change programmes within the public sector.
- Strong understanding of change management principles, tools, and methodologies.
- Experience in coaching leaders and peers to achieve change outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for different audiences.
- Proactive, strategic thinker with strong organisational and self-management skills.
