Pay Rates: Up to £17 per hour Umbrella or £15 per hour PAYE inclusive of holiday pay
Hours / Working Days: 37.5 hours per week / Monday to Friday, 7am – 3pm

Post summary:
- To assist planning, procure, produce and serve high quality, freshly made, nutritious and well-presented food and refreshments to meet the needs of our patients, staff and visitors in a safe and well managed environment.
- To provide meals staff and patient meals as directed by the Head Chef
- To provide a customer focused, quality food service
- Preparing, cooking and serving of meals as instructed; working in partnership with the Trust dietician and therapists
- To ensure availability of required diets.
- To take part in initiatives relating to improving services within the department in delivering the NHS plan objectives
- To ensure food items are presented in line with Food Safety Regulations and Trust policy
- To ensure the quality, presentation and temperature of food on offer within the restaurant
- To work, as part of a team in the provision of Catering Services to Staff, Visitors and Patients, ensuring the service provided is customer focused.
- To work in a safe and hygienic manner, ensuring the highest standard of food safety.
- To maintain the highest standard of personal and professional presentation
- To allocate duties to staff under your supervision.
Key Result Areas:
- Communicate effectively with kitchen team to ensure the required standards are clear and achieved
- Communicate effectively with service team to ensure awareness of food content and taste to maximise sales and highlight allergens
- Interact regularly with customers to measure success and gain ideas
- To prepare and ensure meals are delivered and served appropriately, including relevant portion size
- To assist monitoring stock levels, ensure appropriate rotation of stock.
- Contribute to a positive attitude towards learning opportunities within the trust
- To ensure that the food quality and presentation and service are provided to the appropriate standards
- To inspect, record and monitor, and if required, take action to ensure that high standards are maintained, (complying with Health and Safety and Food Handling and Hygiene Regulations) and feedback to your Line Manager
- All food ingredients are entered onto the Trust allergen recording system and that a hard copy of allergens is available on request by customers
- Compliance with current Food Safety (General Food Hygiene) Regulations.
- Compliance with set quality, quantity and food waste control measures
- Compliance with the departments Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point [HACCP] procedures
- To work in a safe and hygienic manner, ensuring the highest standard of food safety
- To maintain the highest standard of personal and professional presentation

- To undertake on/off the job training as required

Skill and Experience
- Ability to undertake the manual handling requirements of the role
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures
- Able to work to set production timescales.
