Location: Abingdon 


 Pay Rate: £13.90 PAYE Inclusive of holiday pay 


 Duration of booking: 3 months with potential extension 

 

Working Pattern: 5 days out of 7, shifts will be between 8am-6pm Monday -Sunday 


 Job description

 We are currently looking for fit and active person/s to patrol the car parks, providing a visible presence as well as issuing penalty charge notices as required.

 You will be required to use your own car to travel between the car parks and fuel and wear and tear expenses will be reimbursed on a weekly or monthly basis. You will be supplied with a uniform and personal protective equipment that you will be expected to wear at all times when you are on duty.

The post holder may be required to carry out any other duties from time to time without changing the nature of the post or the level of responsibility appropriate to the grading of the post.

 

Duties 

  • Main duties and responsibilities include:
  • ensure that the ticket machines are maintained in good working order which includes replenishing supply of tickets in machine and carrying out some essential maintenance
  • monitor ticket stock levels and report when getting low
  • ·Inspect all vehicles to check that a current parking ticket, season ticket or disabled badge is displayed or any other parking restrictions relating to the car park
  • issue the appropriate penalty charge notice to offenders and place on windscreen
  • report by telephone or email to the car park team any vandalism, machine fault or health and safety issues taking photographs of the situation
  • carry out car park condition inspections and complete a survey form to be completed four times a year (in all car parks across both districts including ‘free’ car parks)
  • responsible for checking that all equipment issued is in full working order i.e. correct date on camera, handheld and mobile telephone charged
  • computer skills: to be able to attach photographs and send emails via handheld devices and desk top computer, download software.
  • access and record corporate information via computer
  • carry out additional adhoc car park related task when requested by the district councils, our client
  • Reporting to the Contract Manager/ Operations Supervisor, your working hours will be between 30 - 35 hours per week and up to 5 days out of 7 and requires regular weekend working. You may also occasionally be required to work extra hours.

 

 

Requirements

  • A clean full, driving license (minimum category B - Manual) your own vehicle – 45p per mile milage. 
  • 1-year minimum civil enforcement officer experience 
  • Comprehensive literacy, and interpersonal skills in order to deal with the public effectively
  • Initiative – we love to hear your ideas!
  • The ability to work with minimum supervision but also as part of a team
  • Able to problem solve during stressful situations

 

 

Work Location: In Person at various locations around the contract area, managed by a rota.
