Inpatient s.75 Mental Health Social Worker Job Type: Temporary

Pay Rates: Up to £22.40 per hour PAYE inclusive of holiday pay

Hours / Working Days: 37.5 hours per week / working 5 days across Monday - Friday

Shifts times: 09:00 to 17:00

Job Purpose:

To provide specialist social work input to service users with mental health needs in an inpatient setting. The role involves Care Act 2014 assessments, s.117 aftercare planning, safeguarding duties, and promoting recovery-based care in a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete statutory assessments under the Care Act and s.117 aftercare.
• Develop person-centred care and support plans.
• Promote the social model of mental health and advocate for service users.
• Support safeguarding processes under s.42 of the Care Act.
• Contribute to MDT risk assessments and discharge planning.
• Provide guidance on Mental Capacity Act and Mental Health Act applications.
• Supervise junior staff and support assistants.
• Maintain accurate records in line with GDPR and policy requirements.
• Engage in service audits, supervision, and CPD.

Person Specification:

Essential:

• Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
• Experience in mental health and multidisciplinary working
• Knowledge of relevant legislation (Care Act, MHA, MCA)
• Strong communication, risk assessment, and time management skills

Desirable:

• AMHP or BIA qualification
• Experience supervising others
• Car driver
