We're currently recruiting compassionate and experienced Registered Psychiatric Nurses (RPNs) to work across a variety of mental health services in Cork, including acute psychiatric units, community mental health teams, residential services and specialist care settings.
The Role
As an agency RPN, you'll play a vital role in supporting individuals experiencing mental health challenges while promoting recovery, independence and wellbeing. Duties vary by placement, but typically include:
- Delivering high-quality, recovery-focused nursing care in a range of mental health settings
- Carrying out comprehensive mental health assessments and contributing to individualised care planning
- Administering medications and monitoring their effectiveness in accordance with clinical guidelines
- Building therapeutic relationships with service users to support positive mental health outcomes
- Assessing and managing risk while responding appropriately to mental health crises
- Working collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists and other multidisciplinary professionals
- Maintaining accurate clinical records and ensuring compliance with professional and organisational standards
- Promoting a safe, respectful and person-centred environment that supports recovery and wellbeing
What We're Looking For
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) [confirm with compliance whether applications in progress can be accepted]
- A recognised psychiatric nursing qualification
- Right to live and work in Ireland
- Full clean driving licence (desirable for community-based positions)
- Strong communication, assessment and clinical decision-making skills
- A compassionate, professional approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality mental health care
- Flexibility, reliability, and the ability to work across a range of services and shift patterns
