Ireland is a country rich in history, culture, (names you can’t pronounce!), beauty and people who are renowned for being warm and friendly.

Although it is known for its green landscape and heavy rain, Ireland is also famous for its cities, which can provide a fabulous life for you and your family. Despite its battles with poverty in the past, in GDP terms per capita, it’s now ranked one of the wealthiest countries in the world!

Maybe you’re looking to move to Ireland to take advantage of the friendly, laidback lifestyle (and one of our fabulous opportunities)! You might live in Ireland already and be considering a change of scenery, but aren’t sure where! Don’t worry, we’re here to help…

As the Republic of Ireland’s capital city, you know there’s bound to be lots happening in Dublin. It’s full of history and culture, and has much to explore.

It’s a city of roughly 1.1 million people (so not too big) and has easy access to places within the city as well as across the country. They have a brilliant transport system with buses running until midnight in the week. There’s also a separate night service on Fridays and Saturdays so you have an affordable ride home after a night in one of their fabulous bars (or if you’ve been put on the dreaded night shift)!

Some of the main attractions include Dublin Castle, the National Gallery of Ireland, Book of Kells and Europe’s biggest park, where you can expect to see lots of wild life, including deer!

Cork is much smaller than Dublin and has a population of around 200,000 people. It’s famous for its food, its English Market, Elizabeth Fort, St Mary’s Cathedral and St Finbarr’s Cathedral.

One thing that draws people to Cork is the cost of living- it’s much less than the likes of Dublin, plus, it’s on the coast! If you like the arts, it’s big on music, theatre, cinema and even has a theatre dedicated to dance.

Healthcare is one of the main industries there, with three of its hospitals being in Cork’s top ten employers.

If you’re someone who’s into their sports- look no further! Limerick is a very sporty city and particularly known for Rugby, Hurling and Football. Smaller again than Cork, the population here is roughly 91,500.

A handy characteristic of Limerick is that it’s within two hours of three international airports, one of which is only 15/ 20 minutes away! Therefore, you’re never far away from your next escape or home if you’re looking to come over from the UK.

Limerick’s main tourist points include the City Museum, King John’s Castle, the Hunt Museum and the Treaty Stone.
