Job Description
Post Title: Administration Officer (Penalty Charge Notice Environment) Location: Morden Duration: Expected to last until December 2025
Pay Rate: £17.27 PAYE
Main Purpose
- To work within the Planning and Building Control administration team to undertake the processing and recording of applications.
- To respond efficiently and effectively to enquiries (via telephone, in writing, or in person) from solicitors, developers, agents, and the general public regarding building control processes.
- To provide copy documents in line with an agreed scale of charges.
- Act as a point of contact for Planning and Building Control enquiries within the Environment and Regeneration Department. Handle requests for information via fax, email, or in person, specifically relating to building matters.
- Respond promptly to all search, supplementary, and general enquiries related to planning and building control histories.
- Maintain familiarity with relevant processes, legislation, and guidance related to Planning and Building Control (not essential but desirable).
- Use IT systems effectively to maintain and update databases and other information supporting the service.
- Provide general administrative support to the Planning and Building Control administration team as needed.
- Organise and prioritise workload in line with targets set out in government guidance, service plans, team plans, and individual performance plans.
- Uphold and contribute to the council’s Equal Opportunity and Customer Care practices, taking a proactive role in their implementation.
- Ensure compliance with corporate and departmental health and safety policies at all times. Raise any issues or concerns with the appropriate line manager.
- Undertake any other duties appropriate to the grading of the post as required by senior management.
